about us

We are SabasNielsen, a small design studio in Copenhagen. Just the two of us, Mina and Nikolaj.

Mina comes from fashion, Nikolaj from furniture design. Add Spanish/Paraguayan and Danish backgrounds to the mix, and we don’t always approach things in the same way. We like that.

What we do share is a need to make ideas happen and a hands-on approach to design. We like being part of the whole process, from the first thought and rough experiments to figuring out how something is actually made and seeing the finished result.

Our work moves between objects, spaces and fashion, often somewhere in between. We like projects that give us room to explore an idea across disciplines, whether that becomes a small collection, a piece of furniture, a space or something we haven’t made before.

about the space

The Studio is the shared home of SabasNielsen and RUDE FÆNIX, bringing our design practice and workshop together under one roof.

We designed and built the space ourselves to support the way we work. Every decision was made with flexibility in mind, allowing the studio to adapt as our projects evolve.

Much of what fills the space has been designed and built in-house using recycled materials, upcycled furniture and repurposed objects. Rather than simply being a place where we work, the studio itself has become an ongoing design project where functionality, experimentation, and sustainability meet.
