Sabas is the fashion side of SabasNielsen, shaped by Mina’s background across South America and Europe and her education in fashion between Spain and Denmark.

Duality runs through both her personal history and her approach to design. Different cultures, artistic influences and experiences come together in a visual language built around contrasts and juxtapositions.

Where Nikobo tends towards restraint, Sabas is drawn to excess. Strong colours, contrasting silhouettes, unexpected finishes and different styles are freely mixed and experimented with. Sustainability and functionality sit alongside fun and a touch of theatricality, without one necessarily having to compromise the other.

At the same time, there is a strong respect for tailoring and craftsmanship. Mina learned fashion through an old-school, hands-on approach and still prefers to stay physically connected to the materials and the making process. Working by hand, experimenting directly with fabrics and understanding how something is constructed remain an important part of developing an idea.

Inspiration comes from many places, but revolutions, history, art and personal experiences have a habit of finding their way into the work.
